Welcome everyone! The St. Brigid Youth Ministry invites you to join this exciting ministry. Anyone Junior High – 12th grade is able to join. You don’t have to be a Catholic so bring your friends and join us for faith-filled fun. Below is a description of the kinds of activities you can enjoy with us. Junior High students have different activities than High School students so be sure to look in the right place. And if you have any questions please contact the Parish Office.
Meetings for High School students are generally held the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm.
Meetings for the 7th and 8th Graders are generally held the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month 3:45pm – 5:00 pm.
All meetings are in the Parish Office at 258 Purcell Dr.
St. Brigid Youth Ministry offers several annual retreats for parish youth. Day-long and overnight events offer an opportunity to get away, relax, and come to know the Lord and one another better. Parents are encouraged to support the participation of their children in these retreat experiences. The purpose of these retreats is to:
Youth have an opportunity to deepen their faith and meet other young Catholics from different parishes at the various conferences we attend.
These activities for youth and friends provide fun, fellowship, and a chance to deepen old friendships and make new ones. They are sometimes at St. Brigid but most often are elsewhere around town. We also periodically pair up with other Catholic parish youth ministries in the Dayton area and with other Christian churches’ youth ministries in Xenia.
The life and teachings of Jesus call us to reach out and serve those in need. Our Catholic Social Teachings help us to understand our responsibility of Christian witness, justice, and service. St. Brigid youth ministry is active in educating and challenging our young people to live out this call within the parish and broader community. Various opportunities are offered throughout the year for becoming involved in service both within and outside the parish.
Youth are encouraged to take an active role in witnessing their faith and serving their parish community.
