My name is Julie Carrabine and I am the seventh grade homeroom, and seventh and eighth grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher! I am very excited to be teaching at St. Brigid and working with students who are about to move onto the next step of their education and spiritual lives. I have lived in Dayton Ohio for my entire life, having attended Holy Angels, Chaminade Julienne High School, and finally The University of Dayton. This will be my sixth year of teaching and fifth year teaching in a Catholic environment. I have a bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts. I believe in using authentic texts and methods of assessment in the classroom and incorporating the use of technology as often as possible. I always keep faith at the center of all learning and believe that no lesson is complete unless it has strengthened your relationship with God. The environment in my classroom is very interactive and hands on, with student interaction at the center. I will help each student acquire high expectations of themselves, just as I will have high expectations of them.
