The true cost to educate a child at St. Brigid School is over $6200. (Point of interest…average cost to educate a child in an Ohio public school is over$14,000) As stewards of the parish treasury and resources, due diligence demands that we consider the most fair and equitable means to fund the school going forward. Our tuition for 2024-2025 is $6266. There are, however, several opportunities to reduce that amount or get it fully paid through grants and scholarships. Seventy-five percent of our families pay $0 tuition out of pocket.
EdChoice Expansion Scholarships – BASED ON INCOME
All students will receive a scholaship depending on income.
Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, EdChoice Expansion Scholarships are available to all St. Brigid students (K-8). The State budget that passed July 1, 2023 vastly increased the availability of EdChoice scholarships by raising the income limits and making them universal. Families whose income is below 450% of the federal poverty level will receive a full scholarship. Above 450% FPL all students are eligible on a sliding scale.
Click HERE to view the 2024 FPL income chart. See the EdChoice award amounts by FPL below. The application opens February 1 and remains open all year.
All St. Brigid families will be required to apply for an EdChoice Expansion scholarship before any other financial aid is considered.
Once a family is in the program they can remain in the program even if their income increases. Renewal is automatic each year through high school with submission of application.
Further information is available by calling St. Brigid School at 937-372-3222 or visiting the Ohio Department of Education website at http://edchoice.ohio.gov. All information about family income and tuition payments is kept strictly confidential.
The St. Michael the Archangel Scholarship (Formerly the Irish Scholarship) is not strictly income based. It was created to evaluate financial aid needs for those families who may not fully qualify for the various income-based scholarships/grants such as EdChoice and Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Education Foundation grants. This application must be completed to receive any consideration in reducing your family’s tuition after the EdChoice scholarship is applied.
Requested information will include the family’s name and address, number of children and their grade, parishioner status, other scholarships and grants applied for and expected to receive, and any other family circumstances that create a need for tuition assistance. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLAR- SHIP UNLESS INVITED TO DO SO BY THE TUITION MANAGER.
If you have any questions, please call or email Tuition Manager Jan Abel at 937-372-3193 ext. 15. jabel@stbrigidxenia.org
This is a program of the Archdiocese that helps families with tuition costs. For the first time in 2024-25, preschool students are eligible for awards. Families must reapply every year and non-Catholic families are also eligible. Grants will range from $250 to $1200. Families that submit the FACTS application for financial aid before February 25, 2024 are automatically considered for Archdiocese of Cincinnati grants. Your application must be verified by FACTS before February 29 which means any documents required must be uploaded by February 25 also. If you own a business, additional forms will be required and they must also be uploaded by February 25. No grants will be awarded after this deadline. Additional information can be found at https://catholicbestchoice.org/tuition-aid/catholic-education-foundation/ .
Some financial aid comes directly from St. Brigid Parish. The grants come in the form of a reduction of tuition. Information provided in the FACTS Grant and Aid Management Application is used to make awards.
FACTS is accepting applications for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati grant awards for the 2024-2025 school year. Archdiocese grants are only awarded to preschool through 8th grade families who submit the FACTS application by February 25. The same application will be used by St. Brigid School for financial aid from the parish.
There is a $35.00 application fee.
New families that register after February 25 and desire to apply for financial aid will be required to fill out the FACTS application and will be considered for any financial aid available after that date.
