PURPOSE OF THE SCHOOL COUNCIL –

1. To assist the Pastor and the Principal by developing goals and plans to carry out the School’s long range strategic plan.

   a. By representing the School community; offering input that will aid the Pastor and Principal to improve the quality of school services.

2. The Council is not a deliberative body, but rather a consultative body that makes recommendations to the Pastor and Principal  in matters of importance to the school.

   a. According to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Schools Educational Guidelines and Policies for School Administrators (2024) The Catholic School Council shall  advise on matters related specifically to the Catholic school. (102.01 p.7)

The purpose of the School Council shall be to develop and define policies which shall offer guidance, counsel, and advice in the operation of the catechetical and educational programs of St. Brigid School and to promote the implementation of said policies.

Meetings are held at 6:30 P.M. on the last Tuesday of the month all year in the school lunchroom. All regular meetings are open to the public.

For a topic to be placed on the agenda, it must be submitted in writing to the principal and/or any Education Commission member no later than ten days prior to the next scheduled meeting.
